THIS WEEK:

What's the Tea Tuesdays

Tune in live at 3:30 p.m. on our Facebook this Tuesday to learn about gentrification and the idea of democratizing development with our Executive Director Laura Martin.

Environmental Justice Meeting Thursday

This month we will be talking about land management and why we do it in light of the Transform Clark County proposal!

We will have an introduction to this proposal, and then will discuss why profits drive our land management decisions. We will dig into some of the implications of managing our spaces for profit through a discussion on the role of police in protecting property before people. Finally, we will round up the discussion with members of the Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition discussing a positive vision for the future!

Friday Community Wellness Chat

Join us in this Virtual Gallery and Meet the Artist as we bring you an artist whose breath gives life to the tantalizing photography taken within the Southwest. Muralist Chip Thomas' dramatic art soothes the desert landscapes with a traditional dedication to the Navajo people (Dine’). His art emphasizes a social and environmental justice story and exposes the colonial impacts of stolen resources and the legacy left by uranium mining. Welcome again, to help honor a People so honored to connect with their land. Our precious evening begins with a Virtual Happy ½ Hour for music and Prickly Pear Lemonade followed at 4:30pm by the conversation from 5:00-6:00pm. Come in your Rez Formal, wearing your best earrings or bolo tie. Join us in our Meet the the Artist for an intimate art and activist discussion with the talented muralist Chip Thomas. The conversation will take place from 5 to 6pm, however a virtual gallery will begin at 4:30pm. You can RSVP for this week's discussion at bit.ly/PLANwellness.
