UPDATES:

A note from our Development Director, Bob Fulkerson: Thanks to the 115+ Planistas who gave $8,000 to PLAN last week to mark my passage to geezerhood (60th birthday)! The zoom party included some powerful words about PLAN and our work in Nevada by one of the country’s leading feminist visionaries, Rebecca Solnit. We also heard from grassroots fundraising pioneer Kim Klein about COVID-19 intensifying the need to donate even more to groups like PLAN, which have a proven track record of success fighting inequality. You all came through. Thank you!

Air Quality Tweetstorm: Last Thursday afternoon, PLAN and our partner organizations from our Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition participated in a tweetstorm addressing air quality in Nevada. Pollutants are affecting the health of many communities of color all across the country and the result is the same in Nevada. We started trending in Nevada!

DACA: The Supreme Court could release a decision on DACA anytime in the coming weeks. Follow us on social media and the hashtag #HomeIsHereNV for rapid response and news on any decision made about DACA and President Trump’s effort to end the program.

Primary Election: Nevada's June 9th Primary Election will be happening primarily through mail in ballots! Have you returned your ballot yet? Learn more about voting by mail at mailitinnevada.com

TAKE ACTION:

Las Vegas Freedom Fund: Thank you to everyone who has been sharing and donating to the Las Vegas Freedom Fund these past few days! Your donations alongside the work of the Mass Liberation Project leaders, public defenders, and elected leaders at the county and state level, people are being freed from cages as your read this right now.

What is great about a bail fund is when we bail folks out, the money comes back to the fund, and we can use it to free more people. And because we host it on Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada's ActBlue page, PLAN pays the fees so 100% of your contribution can go towards bail and supportive services.

Pledge to VoteEvery election matters. Every race matters. Will you join us in taking a pledge to vote? We owe it to ourselves to demand better of our politicians and that starts at the ballot box. Here are some steps you can take:Every election matters. Every race matters. Will you join us in taking a pledge to vote? We owe it to ourselves to demand better of our politicians and that starts at the ballot box.

It's Time to Tax the Mines: Take action and tell the Governor to cut the sweetheart tax deductions mining takes, and not just cut the services that we rely on! In unprecedented times, we need unprecedented action, and that means for the first time ever, standing up to the mining industry.
