We need YOU to show up for environmental justice in Nevada.
Environmental issues impact us every day, and have severe impacts on people’s health- from not having breathable air, drinkable water, or livable neighborhoods.
Every Nevadan deserves access to a clean and healthy environment, regardless of their race, income, or zip code.
Assembly Bill 312 would establish an environmental justice commission in Nevada. The commission will have representation from communities across the state, like areas with poor air quality and Native communities dealing with water pollution. The proposed bill seeks to empower communities by giving the decision-making power back to those of us that are being deeply affected by environmental injustice and racism. The bill would allow for intentional and increased community engagement on environmental issues that impact all of us in Nevada.
With the creation of the Commission, affected communities would be able to demand equal protections from environmental hazards and push for their right to a safe, healthy, productive and sustainable environment for all, specifically access to better healthcare services, healthy food, transportation, clean water, and safer homes.
Tell your representatives that you support the creations of an Environmental Justice Commission in Nevada!
And make sure to add your own experience with bad air quality, polluted water, extreme heat, or health problems in the comment box.
Right now we are not targeting anyone in your area, but we would love to have you join our environmental justice work! Make sure to sign up for our email list and follow us on social media.
